I began my career at GMAC Insurance, then known
as National General Insurance Company, a marketer
of property-casualty insurance. While working
full-time, I completed a law degree from St. Louis
University but realized I enjoyed my current career
too much to go practice law. After nearly 10 years
at GMAC, I joined a fast-growing Inc. 500 agency.
In 1998, the agency was acquired by a $110 million
integrated agency and I became the firm's Senior
Vice President & Creative Director.
My juris doctor degree qualified me for university
teaching so for much of my career, I was on the
faculty of Maryville University in St. Louis, teaching
undergraduate and MBA courses in Marketing
Principles, Direct Marketing, Consumer Behavior,
Interactive Marketing, and Business Law. And as
much as I've loved teaching, I never forget the
importance of continued learning.
Five years ago, I followed my heart, resigned my
position in St. Louis, moved to Austin, Texas, and
started my very own thing.
I am an active speaker for DMA chapters and other
business organizations. A list of my presentations
and upcoming gigs can be found under Speaking.
Experience
23 years in the direct
marketing industry. 10 years
on the client side, the rest on
the agency & freelance side.
I've written too many controls
to even count and absolutely
love what I do for a living.
Education
BS Economics; Southern
Illinois University.
Juris Doctor; Saint Louis
University School of Law.
Location
Round Rock, Texas. A
suburb of Austin and the
second fastest growing city
in the nation in 2008.
Personal
A few folks have told me I
should jazz up my site with
more fun personal
information. I always
appreciate learning a little
about the lives of people I
work with so, at the risk of
seeming a little vain, I've put
more personal information
about myself HERE. Iff'n
you're interested.
